Karbon is the clearest benchmark for modern, firm-first practice management — #1 in G2's quarterly reports for 17 consecutive quarters through Winter 2026, with 30,000+ accounting professionals across 33 countries using the product. The January 2026 $66M Series B led by Tidemark took total raised to roughly $166M, and the September 2025 acquisition of Aider (a New Zealand AI-reporting tool) added native agentic period-close, inline transaction editing, and AI management reporting to the platform.
The Aider acquisition is the structural change: Karbon has traditionally been a practice-cockpit on top of third-party ledger and compliance tooling, and the Aider tech brings a real agentic surface on the bookkeeping and reporting axes — a meaningful autonomy uplift that sits alongside the existing Karbon AI drafting and workflow-triage features. Public claims of ~18.5 hours per employee per week of freed-up time should be read as a marketing number but directionally consistent with the product's triage-heavy positioning.
Country fit is strongest in the US and meaningfully strong in the UK, where Karbon has invested in Companies House and HMRC deadline automation. Germany and Sweden remain non-markets; DATEV, Agenda, and Capego own those seats.
