Bokio is the freemium challenger in the Swedish SMB market — the product is genuinely free for solo entrepreneurs, with paid add-ons for VAT filing, payroll, and expanded bank connectivity. The automation is more aggressive than Fortnox or eEkonomi because Bokio is newer and architected around it: the product auto-books most transactions against BAS with a high hit rate and drafts VAT returns for review.
Bokio has a real UK product as well, and the pricing structure translates — but the agentic quality is meaningfully better for Swedish customers because the product was designed around Swedish workflows. For a solo Swedish entrepreneur starting out, Bokio is often the correct first choice.
